Liberal Party leader Michael Ignatieff accuses the Conservative government of "spending like a drunken sailor." It is certainly a strong criticism and the government needs to be held accountable for bringing the country into deficit. Unfortunately Dr. Ignatieff lacks all credibility on this issue. He threw away his opportunity to accuse the government of being fiscally irresponsible the moment that he announced that he would fund NHL arenas and new entitlements.
Maybe Andrew Coyne is right that we need a new party. Maybe we can call it the Responsibility Party.

No, you've got that all wrong. Harper wants to throw away your hard-earned money. Ignatieff wants to strategically invest it in dealing with Canada's priorities.
Or is that Ignatieff and Harper? I can never remember.
Harper has pounded taxpayers with record deficits. $58 billion is nopt sustainable...unless your a drunken sailor. Harperi sicertifiably the poorest economic manager in Canadian history. The Liberals had 8 susccessive balanced budgets. When the Cons have 8 successive balanced budgets then you can be smarmy about your record.
It is clear that Harper is piddling taxpayer money on buying votes and can't stop spending like a drunken sailor.
The deficit is in the 30's now. It will be announced during the budget. The liberals had surpluses because of downloading everything on the provinces and stealing from the workers EI funds. They used money from the GST they said they would scrap. They did nothing while in Govt. except steal taxpayers money to give to their friends and run their election in Quebec,with brown envelopes at Chez Franks.. ring a bell? Canadians don't take lessons from Liberals in anything. PM Harper is the best PM in a century so get used to being in the dog house...dogs with a bone.... pathetic.
We already have a party that is fiscally responsible as a consequence of its political philosophy and that's the Libertarian party. Unfortunately it will never be taken seriously because Canada is a country of socialist sheep who don't take their freedoms seriously. They would rather have their entitled entitlements than their natural rights. So, hoping for fiscal sanity is a pipe dream.
