By a lucky coincidence I was sitting in the Speaker's Gallery of Queen's Park when Randy Hillier stood to make a Member's Statement. This gave me a great view of a historical moment when he announced to the House that he attends to ammend the constition to enshrine property rights.
With Scott Reid introducing a similar motion in the Federal Parliament, I can only hope that Canadians can one day enjoy this extra protection of our liberty

It will be interesting to see who votes against property rights and why. I would especially like to hear what that positive rights imbecile Ignatieff has to say about it.
A given is that the socialists will vote against private property rights, which means the NDP, Liberals, BQ and Greens. Assume that it actually makes it to the amendment stage, I suspect most of our premiers will not wish to see these rights inshrined, so people will need to apply strong pressure on their provincial government to respect their wish to see these rights inshrined.
