The headline of this story reads 'Tories apologize to India over visa feud.' Shouldn't it read 'government apologize to India over visa feud.' It isn't like the Conservative Party of Canada is making the apology. It is the government.
There is a fine line between the actions of a political party in government and the actions of the government. But when dealing directly with foreign powers it is very clear what side of the line it is on. Minister Kenney was speaking on behalf of the government of Canada not the Conservative Party.
So why the misleading title? Is it to make it sound like this incident is somehow the Conservative's fault?

Naw....they just haven't accepted that the Tories ARE the government.
Where were you when the Conservatives were putting their logos on government cheques?
Anon,
I didn't post anything on that issue partly because of my general policy not to write about scandals and partly because I didn't have a unique or particularly interesting perspective on the issue.
But you seem interested so I will just say: it was wrong for the Conservative Party to do that.
Anony..while it may not have been right...the difference is that it was the Tories themselves that did it -- this is our media choosing to influence public opinion by suggesting that the Tories did something wrong.
Get the difference.
BTW - I also agree it wasn't right - just like this isn't.
As it pertains to the matter of CPC logos on government cheques, I oppose that as well.
I'm waiting for the matter to be dealt with here in Alberta, where the Alberta Tories have a penchant for putting their logos on government cheques as well.
